Aims of 2018

Sunday 28 January 2018

Each year I compile a list of things I want to do, achieve or complete during the year, rather than having just one resolution.

However, before that, I always have a look back over my aims for the previous year and see how many I managed to complete. So, in 2017 did buy a car, travel to at least two places I'd never been before, try my best to stay in contact with friends, start my book blog, continue to try and push myself and take opportunities as they arise and I also did pass my probation period at work (and got promoted). I had a few aims which I didn't really manage including: taking more photos, getting back into swimming and posting a lot more on this blog. But, I don't see those as 'failures' because some of these can just role onto the next year. These aims are time limited as such - they're just to keep me focused on general things I'd like to achieve.

So moving on to this year then, here are my 'aims' for 2018:

- Drive on the motorway (this is one which I've been apprehensive to do ever since I bought my car, but I'm determined to get this one ticked off my list this year)
- Travel to at least another two places that I've never visited before
- Continue to post on both my book blog and this blog
- Ensure that I start to do some form of exercise (swimming/gym/etc)
- Put a little bit of extra effort into staying in contact with friends, especially those that I don't get to see very much these days
- Continue to develop professionally at work (I still have much to learn since being promoted)
- To be spontaneous and don't let good opportunities pass me by
- See more films at the cinema
- Spend less time on social media and use this additional time to do more productive things
- Try and get back into journaling
- Maintain a skincare routine

I'll probably add to this as the year goes on as and when I think of other things! Good luck to anyone else who's set themselves a resolution or aims for the year.
